Following the success of the 2020 Expo Dubai, the next World Expo will open in the Kansai region of Osaka, Japan, on 13 April 2025 and will last until 13 October 2025.
Invitalia is in charge of the competitive bidding procedure with negotiation for the award of the Plant and Design-Build Contract (FIDIC) and the joint assignment of the design, execution of works, maintenance during the entire duration of the Expo and then the dismantling of the Italian Pavilion at the 2025 OSAKA EXPO site. The deadline for submitting bids is 3:00 p.m. on 15 May 2023.
The contract to build a pavilion on the theme of the interdependence between man, nature and technology in the design of future societies is worth EUR 16.25 million as the basis for the tender, to which optional works up to a maximum amount of EUR 7 million and optional services up to EUR 750,000 could be added. The maximum estimated value of the contract is therefore EUR 24 million.
With the claim “Art Regenerates Life”, the main objective of the Italian Pavilion will be to show how a human-centred society can be created which is capable of generating innovation, sustainability and wellbeing, overcoming the contrasts between man and machine, between natural and artificial. Lot A9 has been selected to host the Italian Pavilion and is located in the “Saving life” district; it has a surface area of 3,626 square metres, of which 2,538 can be built on.
The theme of the 2025 Expo in Osaka, Kansai is “Designing Future Societies for Our Lives”. Human beings are at the centre of development and innovation with the aim of creating a major event centred on the humanism of life sciences, economic and social policies, technologies and the digitisation of learning, information and communication systems.
